Every evidence-based healing modality has a story—a lineage of knowledge shaped by observation, experimentation, and lived experience. My research explores the intersection of science and storytelling, where history, evidence, and personal inquiry deepen our understanding of integrative health.

I examine topics ranging from herbal medicine and pharmaceutical science to nutritional research and systems-based lifestyle design. Some studies will take a rigorous, data-driven approach, while others bridge ancestral wisdom with modern science, or take a more exploratory approach using the values of Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR).

This research isn’t just theoretical, but also informs my coaching practice and how I live. By studying the evolving dialogue between ancient wisdom and contemporary practice, I aim to understand what works, why it works, and how we can apply it in meaningful ways with minimal harm to people or the planet.

I invite you to join the conversation! Let’s explore, question, and build a more informed, equitable, and enjoyable future together.

Science and the Stories Behind It

current research

My current research explores local and regenerative community food systems as a foundational intervention for both personal and planetary health. This spring, I’ll be traveling through Costa Rica to visit farms, community gardens, and cooperative food projects that integrate permaculture and regenerative agriculture. My goal is to document how different communities design their food systems, cultivate relationships with food and land, and navigate both bounty and challenges. Through this documentation and storytelling, I hope to inspire others to grow, cook, and collaborate in ways that suit their own environments and meaning the changing demands of our food, healthcare and economic systems.
