Why Root to Flower?
Root to Flower honors my reverence for plants and the natural world - how we can learn from them and how they can guide our healing journeys.
It also represents the framework I use with clients: aligning with our values and using mindfulness and nervous system regulation to lay the foundation (roots) from which we grow toward the authentic expression of our lives - filled with more joy, creativity and wellbeing (flowers).
Root to Flower also honors a larger, systems-thinking approach: that our personal wellbeing is connected to the wellbeing of the communities and world around us. For this reason, I have chosen to undergo rigorous academic training, so I can also be in relationship with the existing medical systems and latest evidence-based research - both to provide the best whole-person care and also put my two cents towards influencing the field of Integrative Health towards collective wellbeing.

FILL YOUR PLATE WITH JOY
Relationality
AUTHENTICity
My work is all about helping you identify your values and designing a lifestyle that's in alignment. Here are some of my own values, with examples of how I've shaped my life and work to be aligned with them:
Magic happens when you step into your own power and show up to be seen and supported, exactly as you are. Why try to be anything/anyone else? Personally, I am quirky and also navigate a lot of chronic issues - but commit to showing up for this work, anyway.
I believe that healing happens in relationship - to ourselves, each other, and the natural world. Considering our relationship to food, movement, and other practices is a central reframe in this work.
Literally and figuratively: Both dinner and life are best when we get to relax and truly enjoy things that are delicious, satisfying, and health-supportive. Let's treat ourselves well and try to fill our plates with those things, first!
I've been curious about the interconnectedness of all things since youth, through permaculture, ecology and creativity, among others. I honored those interests by pursuing them with no end goal in mind, and eventually weaving them together for this authentic wellbeing framework.
I advocate for Integrative Health as the next needed evolution of our healthcare system — one rooted in prevention, lifestyle medicine, regenerative agriculture, social connection and justice, and a return to healing traditions that honor community, lineage, and land.
After leaving home at 16 following a difficult upbringing, I had the blessed opportunity to be "re-raised" by living and working in London and Copenhagen from the ages of 21-30. That time abroad profoundly shaped how I think about health and living well. I saw firsthand how policy and pro-social culture can support wellbeing naturally — movement woven into transportation, stronger food regulations,
social connection built into daily life, and greater reverence for nature.
Thus the the seed was planted for the lifestyle and systems-thinking approach that informs my work today. Woven into this framework is the knowledge I have gained through my own lifelong healing journey, specifically around preparing nourishing meals, regenerative agriculture, looking to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda for guidance, and learning to thrive as a neurodivergent gal.
I live a great life now. When I'm not reading, writing, or doing this work, I'm spending time in nature, singing with the local Sisters in Harmony group, or out boot scootin' in Austin's lively two-step scene.
