Why Root to Flower?

Root to Flower honors my reverence for the natural world and also represents the framework I use with clients: aligning life with our values and using mindfulness and nervous system regulation to lay the foundation from which we grow toward the authentic expression of our lives - filled with more joy, creativity, beauty - and naturally-occuring wellness.

Root to Flower honors a larger, systems-thinking approach: that our personal wellbeing is connected to the wellbeing of the communities and world around us. Alongside my reverence for nature and earth-based practices, I have chosen to undergo rigorous academic training, so I can also be in relationship with the existing medical systems and latest evidence-based research. This serves two purposes: to provide the best whole-person care for clients, and also to put my two cents towards influencing the future of our healthcare industry towards more accessible and effective whole-person care.

from the ground up

Design a plan foryou; aligned with your values and supporting your authentic life expression

I advocate for Integrative Health as the next needed evolution of our healthcare system — one rooted in prevention, lifestyle medicine, regenerative agriculture, social connection and justice, and a return to healing traditions that honor community, lineage, and land.

After leaving home at a young age, I had the beautiful opportunity to be "re-raised" while working in London and Copenhagen from the ages of 21-30. That time abroad profoundly shaped how I think about health and living well; I witnessed how policy and pro-social culture supports wellbeing naturally; movement woven into transportation, stronger food regulations, reverence for social connection and the natural world. This environment also allowed me to heal and better-understand the chronic health issues I'd been struggling with since childhood.

Thus the the seed was planted for the lifestyle and systems-thinking approach that informs my work today. This framework carries the knowledge I've gained through my own journey, specifically around preparing nourishing meals, regenerative agriculture, looking to TCM and Ayurveda for guidance, and thriving* as a neurodivergent gal.

I still walk the line of chronic health issues that brought me to this work; but am grateful for the life I live: When not reading, writing or working, I'm on the greenbelt, in the springs, singing with the local Sisters in Harmony group, or boot scootin' in Austin's lively two-step scene.
